HP iPAQ pocket PCs are designed for maximum portability. Each HP iPAQ is extremely thin, compact and lightweight. They range in weight from 3.68 to 6 ounces, and are from .5- to .7-inches thin. No matter which one you choose it will easily fit in your pocket or organizer.
All HP iPAQs have color screens. They range in size from 2.0 to 4.3 inches, giving you a clear, crisp display whether you’re editing documents, organizing your day or viewing photos.
HP iPAQ pocket PCs offer a variety of processor options, all designed specifically for mobile computing. HP iPAQs are equipped with the latest processors from Intel® and Samsung. Processors are distinguished by clock speed, which is measured in megahertz (MHz).
If you’ll be editing documents and spreadsheets, sending and receiving large e-mails with attachments or placing phone calls, look for the fastest available options—including processors with speeds of 312 to 624 MHz.
If you’re into watching digital videos, listening to music and organizing photos, or activities like e-mail and Web browsing, look for a processor starting at 400 MHz.
If you’ll be using your HP iPAQ for organizing tasks and daily activities, occasionally accessing the Web and e-mailing, choose a processing speed up to 300 MHz.
As with desktop and notebook PCs, random access memory (RAM) determines how individual operations are executed. Most HP iPAQ pocket PCs have either 32 or 64MB RAM, which is more than enough to deliver a powerful computing experience for running planning and business applications as well as multimedia and messaging.
In the world of HP iPAQ pocket PCs, read-only memory (ROM) greatly affects overall performance. ROM stores the permanent programs and any system programs needed to operate the pocket PC. When deciding on which HP iPAQ is right for you, consider this:
192 to 320MB of ROM is ideal for memory-intensive mobile business activities like editing spreadsheets and presentations, e-mailing large files and connecting to a variety of networks.
64 to 128MB of ROM is ideal for activities like mobile messaging, watching digital videos, listening to music and surfing the Web.
Up to 64MB of ROM is ideal for tasks like daily planning, personal organization and connecting to the Web.
Most HP iPAQs have internal memory storage ranging from 64 to 256MB. In addition, HP iPAQs feature expandable memory options using Secure Digital and/or CompactFlash™ memory cards.1
The HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion is the ideal as a personal GPS navigation device. It provides 2GB of internal Flash ROM and preloaded navigation software and maps.²

It is vital to keep the data on your HP iPAQ pocket PC secure. HP provides a variety of security tools to ensure your data is protected.
A biometric fingerprint reader scans your fingerprint and uses that scan to allow access to your HP iPAQ. Whenever you want to use your HP iPAQ, you simply roll your finger over the scanner. Since everyone’s fingerprint is unique, you don’t have to be concerned that your personal data is at risk if your HP iPAQ is lost or stolen.
HP Protect Tools in collaboration with Credant Technologies, lets you use a personal identification number (PIN) or password to control access, and encrypts to protect data and provide fail-safe action if your HP iPAQ is lost or stolen.
The battery is the life of your HP iPAQ pocket PC. The longer your battery lasts, the more you get from your device. That’s why HP includes long-life, rechargeable lithium-ion batteries in all HP iPAQ pocket PCs. So no matter which you choose, you can depend on long hours of operation wherever you go.
