materials:

  • 1 Sheet of card stock
  • Inkjet paper
  • Metal-edge ruler
  • Butter knife or scoring tool
  • Cutting mat
  • X-ACTO knife
  • Glue stick or double-sided tape
  • Stapler or hole punch and ribbons
cover instructions:
  1. Print the rewards book cover page onto card stock. Set it aside to dry completely.
  2. For easier folding, score the covers by laying the ruler along the two sets of red dotted lines of each of the covers and running a butter knife or scoring tool along the edge. Use moderate pressure to create an indention.
  3. Place the cutting mat underneath the card stock. Using the X-ACTO knife, and the ruler as a guide, trim the white areas away from the covers.
  4. Cut the covers in half along the black line on the center of the page.
  5. Place the covers face-down and apply glue or double-sided tape to one half of the cover. Fold the cover in half along the scored line, pressing firmly together.

coupon instructions:

  1. Edit your coupons onscreen before printing. Or, if you prefer to hand write your coupons, highlight and delete the sample text.
  2. Print the coupons onto inkjet paper, and set them aside to dry completely.
  3. Place the cutting mat underneath the inkjet paper. Using the X-ACTO knife, and the ruler as a guide, trim the white areas away from the coupons.
  4. Decorate the coupons with the accompanying stickers.
  5. Stack the coupons and place them between the front and back covers.
  6. Bind the Rewards Book. Use a stapler, or punch one or more holes through the stack and use a ribbon to bind it.
  7. Reward kids with the coupons when they do their chores or their homework. Then they can redeem the coupons for treats and prizes.
