Invite your friends to a musical potluck. Ask them to bring three songs and a dish that can be sampled while their music plays. For instance, serve salsa music with a side of nachos, cook up corned beef and cabbage to go with an Irish rock band, put on a polka while grilling kielbasa, or pour a margarita to the rhythm of a mariachi band. Get creative and have fun with it.
Time to play
As your guests settle in, quickly rip their CDs to a “Music is served” folder on your HP Media Center PC. After everyone has arrived and your food is ready, gather around your HDTV and access your network with HP MediaSmart Connect. Start with warm dishes first, then mix in some cold ones and finish the night off with some really “sweet tunes.”
Party suggestion: Make a game out of it and have guests guess how the music and food go together.
A buffet of music
The food may run out but you can keep the music going. Give your guests a turn with your MediaSmart Connect. Select the Online Services menu to access a variety of music through live365. The Internet stations they pick will either get people dancing, singing, laughing or talking about the selection.
Doggie bag
Burn a copy of all the evening’s music to a CD for your friends to take home. You can even add photos taken during the party to make a musical slide show. Every time you listen you’ll remember the good time had by all.
