materials:

  • Stiff paper such as photo paper
  • Scissors
  • Hole punch
  • Laminating sheets (optional)
  • 7-inch length of ball chain or 8-inch length of craft satin cord

instructions:

  1. Print your design onto a piece of photo paper.
  2. Let the print dry completely, and then fill in your personal information.
  3. Cut out the ID tag of your choice.
  4. Fold the tag in half, following the centerline guide on the artwork.
  5. Follow the instructions on the laminating sheets to laminate the tag (or take the tag to your local copy store for laminating).
  6. Trim the extra laminate off the tag edges.
  7. Punch a hole in the tag, using the guide on the artwork.
  8. If using ball chain, feed it through the hole and use it to attach the tag to any item you wish. If using satin cord, bring the ends together and knot, and then feed the unknotted end through the hole. Pull it through about an inch, and then push the knotted end through the loop. Pull the knotted end until you've made a slipknot. Attach the tag to your item of choice by using another slipknot.
