materials:

  • Inkjet-compatible shrink sheets, such as Avery® White Printable Shrink Sheets #3255
  • Cut-to-fit jewelry cord
  • Clear nail polish
  • Hole punch
  • Beads

Caution: Read instructions and warnings on packaging. Super Shrinks are designed for use by adults for making craft projects. They are not recommended for use by young children. Use caution when baking. Material is hot when removed from the oven. Allow to cool before touching material. Round all corners before shrinking to avoid sharp corners after shrinking.

instructions:

  1. Print art onto shrink sheet. Cut pieces as desired.
  2. Preheat toaster or electric oven to 275-300o F. Do not use a microwave oven.
  3. For jewelry, bag tags, shoelace ties, and zipper pulls, pre-punch holes with a standard hole punch.
  4. Place shrink sheet with inked side facing up on a clean
    Teflon®-coated baking sheet.
  5. Bake for 5 to 6 minutes, closely monitoring the baking process. Within one or two minutes, the pieces will begin to curl, shrink, and then flatten. As soon as they flatten, carefully remove the hot super shrink pieces from the oven. After allowing the sheet to cool fully, coat the inked side with clear nail polish to preserve ink.
  6. Create your bag tags, shoelace ties, zipper pulls, and jewelry by threading the jewelry cord through the holes in the super shrink pieces. Add beads and other accessories for a fun flutterbug look!
