Size and weight Designed for maximum portability, each HP iPAQ handheld PC is extremely thin, compact and lightweight. They range in weight from 3.68 to 6 ounces, and are from .5- to .7-inches thin.
Screen size All HP iPAQs have color screens. They range in size from 2.0 to 4.3 inches and give you a clear, crisp display.
Processor speed HP iPAQs are equipped with the latest processors from Intel® and Samsung for powerful mobile computing. Processors are distinguished by clock speed, which is measured in megahertz (MHz).
- Business partner—If you’ll be editing documents and spreadsheets, sending and receiving large e-mails or placing phone calls, look for the fastest available options—including processors with speeds of 312 to 624 MHz.
- Media maniac—If you love watching videos, listening to music, organizing photos, e-mailing and Web browsing, look for a processor starting at 400 MHz.
- Daily organizer—If you’ll be organizing tasks and daily activities, and occasionally accessing the Web and e-mailing, choose a processing speed up to 300 MHz.
Memory Most HP iPAQ handheld PCs have either 32MB or 64MB of random access memory (RAM), which is more than enough to deliver a powerful computing experience for business applications, daily planning, multimedia and messaging.
Read-only memory (ROM) also affects your handheld PC’s overall performance. ROM stores the permanent programs and any system programs needed to operate your device. Choose the amount of ROM based on your needs.
- 192MB to 320MB of ROM is ideal for memory-intensive mobile business activities—like editing spreadsheets and presentations, e-mailing large files and connecting to a variety of networks.
- 64MB to 128MB of ROM is ideal for activities like mobile messaging, watching digital videos, listening to music and surfing the Web.
- Up to 64MB of ROM is ideal for tasks like daily planning, personal organization and connecting to the Web.
Storage Most HP iPAQs have internal memory storage ranging from 64 to 256MB. You can also expand your iPAQ’s memory using Secure Digital and/or CompactFlash™ memory cards.*
The HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion is an ideal personal GPS navigation device. It provides 2GB of internal Flash ROM plus preloaded navigation software and maps.**

Wireless technologies All HP iPAQ handheld PCs offer built-in 802.11b/g wireless networking and/or Bluetooth® wireless technology.

Games and multimedia Enjoy the freedom of taking your digital videos, music and games anywhere you go.
- Music and videos—Download music and videos, and play them with Windows® Media Player software.
- Games—Download and play games available on the Web, or play Web-based games using Microsoft® Internet Explorer.
Security HP provides a variety of security tools to ensure your data is protected wherever you go.
- Biometric fingerprint reader scans your unique fingerprint and uses that scan to allow access to your HP iPAQ.
- HP Protect Tools in collaboration with Credant Technologies helps you create a personal identification number (PIN) or password to control access to your iPAQ, as well as encrypt data and provide fail-safe action if your HP iPAQ is lost or stolen.

- GPS—Get turn-by-turn driving directions wherever you need to go, thanks to the built-in GPS receivers and navigation software in the HP iPAQ hw6945 and HP iPAQ 310 Travel Companion.
- Global phone, camera and multimedia services—Enjoy GPS, a GSM phone, digital camera, digital multimedia services and mobile computing software—all in one device. The HP iPAQ 6945 Mobile Messenger uses Microsoft® Windows® Mobile™ Phone Edition and Cingular cellular service*, so you can place phone calls, send multimedia and text messages, get driving directions and more.

Data input There are multiples ways you can input data and interact with your HP iPAQ handheld PC.
- Stylus—A pen-like instrument, the stylus allows you to tap on the screen of the HP iPAQ to execute commands.
- Navigation buttons—Choose items with directional and command-based buttons located on the HP iPAQ.
- Scroll wheel—Located on the side of the HP iPAQ, the scroll wheel allows you to roll a selector up and down the screen to select items to engage.
- Built-in keypad—A built-in QWERTY keypad allows you to select and enter data as you would on your desktop PC’s keyboard.
- Optional external keyboard—Add an external keyboard via a USB cable or wirelessly using Bluetooth® to input data as you would on any other PC.
