Here's a bright idea! This collection of cards is a great way to stretch the imaginations of would-be inventors. Each card has a brief description of a famous innovator, as well as a related activity or game. It's a whole deck of fun that kids can play on their own or with friends or family.
Innovators such as Wilbur and Orville Wright, George Washington Carver, Alexander Graham Bell, and Thomas Edison are profiled along with their inventions. Lesser-known luminaries such as Stephen Perry, inventor of the rubberband, and Ruth Wakefield, inventor of the chocolate chip, are in the limelight as well.
The fun really begins with games and activities. Learning about Walt Disney? Let's create some flip-book animation. Interested in Leonardo da Vinci? Try writing backwards as he did in his journals. There are 24 cards in all.
