Introduction

You might be surprised to find how easy it is to set up wireless printing. With this helpful guide, you can untether yourself from wires in mere minutes and learn about HP print products that deliver wireless freedom.

Benefits of Wi-Fi printing

One wireless printer for many computers
You save space when several computers can share a single printer.

Comparison of BT and Wi-Fi ranges
802.11b/g Wi-Fi offers much greater range than Bluetooth--enough to allow for printer sharing all over most homes and many office environments.
Mobility
Print from anywhere without being physically attached to your printer. This is what notebook computers were meant for!

No wires
Say goodbye to printer cable clutter or letting the length of printer cables determine the placement of your office equipment. With wireless, a printer can even be placed out of sight in a closet or back room.

Shared printing
A wireless printer can be shared by many computers, saving on the hardware and energy costs it would take to have a printer for each computer.

Open ports
Save the USB ports on your computer for something fun or useful.

Speed
Wi-Fi printing is the fastest wireless technology—approximately 54Mbps.

Range
Wi-Fi has a much longer range than Bluetooth wireless technology—approximately 300 feet.
